After all the spalsh and big talk, Kapil Sibal is not very different from his predecessors Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi and Arjun Singh. Instead of reforming state government universities and colleges whichare going to the dogs, he's picked on soft target private sector deemed universitities.
While it's undoubtedly true that some deemed universities are quite downmarket, even so they are far better than most state government universities and colleges. But instead of insisting on reforming them, he's targeted deemed varsities, some of which are excellent.
Same old agenda! Pathetic.

You are right. The only way to become a young achiever in India is not to let the education system interfere with your goasls and career.

I am glad you didn't join the chorus singing paeans of praise to Jyoti Basu. Like most commies, his prime agenda was to secure the good life for himself and his comrades.
These middle class bhadralok, don't care a jot for the poor. Communist leaders like to deepen poverty to drive the masses to revolution so that they can grab power in the ensuing confusion. That was Jyoti Basu's agenda.
